Tensions Are Rising

Tensions are rising. I was approached twice today by strangers. The first, a middle-aged Black man stopped me in a grocery store.

“Have you voted yet?”

“Yes, I voted by mail weeks ago.”

“I think there’s going to be riots when Trump loses…”

“I think there will be some angry people, a lot of them. But I don’t think that will happen.”

“I pray not. Be safe!”

The second conversation was with an Indian (from India) man who lamented he was unable to vote.

“I think it’s not fair that people who live here but aren’t citizens can’t vote. There’s so much at stake that affects all of us. God help us!”

“God help us all.”
